The Oskava ( German Oskawa ) is a left tributary of the March in the Czech Republic .

geography

It rises five kilometers east of Hraběšice in the Rabenseifener Bergland (Hraběšická vrchovina), a part of the Hannsdorfer Bergland , on the southeast slope of the Kamenný vrch ( 955  m ) at 831.1  m above sea level. NN from several source streams. To the north is the Skřítek saddle with the high moor of the same name, but which is drained from the Zlatý potok into the Podolský potok. On Rabštejn (803 m) over the stream flowing through the mountain forests to the south. On the further course in southwest and south direction lie the places Friedrichsdorf (Bedřichov), Oskava , Nemrlov, Dolní Libina and Hradec . Below Šumvald, the Oskava feeds the Hrubý rybník fish pond. The Oskava flows into the March plain via Plíškův Mlýn, Valcha, Nová Dědina, Fojtský Mlýn, Dolní Sukolom, Uničov , Brníčko and Dětřichov. Here it leads part of its water over the Třetí voda and the Kobylník to the westward running Benkovský potok. The further course leads via Pňovice , Boudy, Krnov, Jílkov, Liboš , Štěpánov and Benátky to Březce. Below the village of Březce, the river is crossed by the railway line between Mohelnice and Olomouc . This is followed by the Chomoutovské jezero quarry pond on the right. At Chomoutov the Oskava flows after 50.29 km at 213.3  m above sea level. NN in the March. The catchment area of ​​the river covers 569.2 km². At the mouth the river has an average water flow of 3.53 m³ / s.
