The Klimmeks blackberry ( Rubus klimmekianus ), or commonly Klimmek blackberry written is a plant of the genus Rubus within the family of Rosaceae (Rosaceae).

Description and similar types

Vegetative characteristics

The Klimmek blackberry forms upright shrubs that are prickly in many parts, especially in the stem axis .

Generative characteristics

Comparison with similar species

The type evidence is habitually very similar to Rubus hebecarpus and Rubus fuscoater, furthermore Rubus rhenanus , but differs from these with white flowers and balding leaf tops. In comparison to Rubus raduloides , the sapling of Klimmek's blackberry is hairy (20–50 hairs per cm side).

Occurrence

Klimmeks blackberry occurs in the Bergisches Land , in the Schiffergebirge on the right bank of the Rhine and in the Eifel. It is also found scattered in Franconia, Thuringia, rarely in Upper Bavaria, Upper Baden-Württemberg, in southwest Saxony-Anhalt, in the Cologne Bay and in the Southern Mountains .

Systematics

Klimmeks blackberry was found by Günter Matzke-Hajek in July 1995 east of the village of Bach near Hurst . The holotype material is kept in the Botanical Museum in Berlin-Dahlem . The first description of Rubus klimmekianus was in 1996 by Günter Matzke-Hajek in Decheniana , Volume 149, Bonn 1996, p. 49. The specific epithet klimmekianus honors Fritz Klimmek .

The species Rubus klimmekianus belongs to the section of blackberries ( Rubus ) in the genus Rubus .
