Acquisition of Thüga AG

On August 12, 2009 it became known that a municipal consortium consisting of Stadtwerke Hannover AG , Mainova AG and N-ERGIE AG , as well as Verbund KOM9, would take over Stadtwerke-Holding Thüga AG owned by E.ON AG want.

The Thüga holdings in GASAG Berliner Gaswerke AG (37 percent), Entega (40 percent), Stadtwerke Duisburg (20 percent) and Stadtwerke Karlsruhe (10 percent) were not part of the sale. A cash purchase price of around EUR 2.9 billion was agreed.

The purchase of Thüga Aktiengesellschaft was completed on December 2, 2009 with the approval of the Federal Cartel Office .
