The Predator is the second episode of the crime film series Kommissarin Heller with Lisa Wagner in the role of the investigator. It was first broadcast on November 12, 2014 on ZDFneo . The film describes the needs of a stalked woman and gives insights into the psyche of the perpetrator.

action

A jogger is found dead by a walker in a lonely area. The corpse was decorated with a flower and laid out like a memorial. Shortly afterwards, a second young woman is killed under similar circumstances. Initially, the husband of the first victim comes under suspicion, but after it turns out that both women were members of the same gym where Hannah Lorenz gives self-defense courses, Commissioner Winnie Heller investigates this area. Although Hannah Lorenz initially stated that she had never been the victim of an assault herself, the commissioner found evidence of a stalking case that took place twelve years ago. Various indications indicate that Lorenz still feels persecuted and threatened today, although she denied this to the police. She has a safety lock on her front door and mysterious flower greetings from a stranger are puzzling.

One day, when there is clear evidence that someone has been secretly into her apartment, she confides in the inspector. Hannah Lorenz had made the acquaintance of a young man named Rafael twelve years ago, but only met him once. From that time on, he never leaves her alone to this day. Commissioner Heller suspects that the man Hannah Lorenz wants to demonstrate his power over her with the murders and is therefore investigating the suspected stalker at the time. In doing so, however, she found that he had apparently died after an accident a few years ago. A college friend, Robert Jansen, had identified the body at the time. Heller visits Jansen and comes to the conclusion that it was not Rafael who had an accident, but his college friend, whose identity he has since adopted. In order to lure him out of the reserve, she confronts Jansen with her suspicions against him. He reacts promptly and sends Hannah Lorenz a video that he secretly recorded in her apartment. Shortly afterwards he also sets her car on fire to demonstrate his superiority to her.

Commissioner Heller underestimates Jansen because when she unexpectedly confronts him with his father, who lives in an old people's home and who had also received news of his death, Jansen kills him a short time later so that he cannot identify him. Hannah Lorenz takes the investigation too long and so she takes the whole thing into her own hands. She calls Jansen and arranges a meeting with him. Before that, Heller overpowers her and takes possession of her service weapon. Lorenz followed brighter, but could not prevent the woman from shooting Jansen.

With the help of countless films and photos that Jansen has saved of his victims in his laptop, the crimes can be clearly assigned to him.

background

In this episode, Commissioner Heller has to cope with the death of her “little” sister. Although the first reactions in the coma showed at short notice, which gave rise to hope, she then suddenly dies of heart failure.

The film was produced in 2013 by Ziegler Film GmbH & Co. KG (Berlin + Cologne). The shooting took place from August 6th to September 6th 2013 in Berlin and Wiesbaden .

criticism

"Despite the frightening subject, in which one person literally destroys the life of another, it is a technically solid utility thriller," writes TV critic Rainer Tittelbach .

"Rather ordinary, superficial and old-fashioned Saturday evening entertainment in a nonetheless entertaining case", judge the critics ofquotemeter.de.

The Münstersche Zeitung writes that Commissioner Heller is a crime thriller "in which a lot is told about the private life of the investigators" and "highlights the originality of the characters and the elaborate camera work".
