Komptendorf ( Lower Sorbian Górjenow ) is a district of the municipality of Neuhausen / Spree in the Spree-Neisse district in Brandenburg . 428 inhabitants live on an area of 7 km².

Geographical location

Komptendorf is 15 km southeast of Cottbus . It is characterized by a quiet and wooded area.

history

Komptendorf's first documentary mention dates back to 1423, which makes the place around a hundred years younger than most of the surrounding communities. It is assumed that the place name goes back to a person's name. In 1463 it was written Kumptendorff, 1500 Cuntendorf, 1644 Komtendorff and 1652 Conitendorf. The Lower Sorbian spelling is traced back to the personal name Goren (1761 Gurònow, 1843 Gurjonow).

At the end of the former village street is the Komptendorf manor, which dates from the late 18th century and was structurally changed in the two following centuries.

At the end of the 1970s, Komptendorf had around 350 inhabitants. This number was reduced to only about 280 inhabitants by the beginning of the 1990s. The reason was in the region affected by the lignite mining. As in other municipalities in the region, the general state-imposed building ban in Komptendorf ensured the emigration of many young people. Komptendorf should give way to the lignite excavator.

Shortly after the German reunification , these old plans were revised with a new zoning plan for general local development. Since then, the population has almost doubled. One example of the rejuvenation of the place is the new residential area “Am Kirchacker”.

On April 1, 1974 Komptendorf was incorporated into Roggosen. On May 6, 1990 the place became an independent municipality again.

On September 19, 2004 Komptendorf formed the new community together with several communities from the dissolved Neuhausen / Spree office.
