Conference of the Freedom of Information Commissioners in Germany
The Conference of Freedom of Information Commissioners in Germany ( IFK ) is a body that deals with current issues of freedom of information and takes a position on them. It meets publicly and usually twice a year. Until December 12, 2006, the IFK was called the Working Group of Information Commissioners in Germany .
The IFK forms the freedom of information law counterpart to the conference of the independent data protection authorities of the federal and state governments . In addition to the Federal Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (BfDI), it also includes the State Freedom of Information Commissioners for the states of Baden-Württemberg, Berlin, Brandenburg, Bremen, Hamburg, Hesse, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, North Rhine-Westphalia, Rhineland-Palatinate, Saarland, Saxony-Anhalt, Schleswig-Holstein and Thuringia.
The IFK meetings are prepared by the Freedom of Information Working Group (AKIF). The chair changes annually in alphabetical order between the participating countries.

With the new name of the body, the numbering of the meetings was continued. The conference took place every six months from now on, instead of once a year as before.
