Konrad Leberecht Marshal von Bieberstein (born January 1695 in Hedersleben , † January 28, 1768 in Berlin ) was a Prussian lieutenant general of the cavalry and heir to Reichstädt and Bethenhausen .

Life

origin

He was the son of Alexander Marschall von Biberstein (1673-1720), a royal Polish and Electoral Saxon district councilor and chief tax collector. His mother was his second wife Rachel Sophie, born von Helldorff († December 9, 1710).

Military career

He went first to the Electoral Saxon and later to Wuerttemberg services, where he went up to the colonel . When the Duchess of Württemberg in 1741 awarded the Dragoon Regiment No. 12 to the Prussians, he was its colonel and commander. On July 20, 1745 he was named major general with the patent dated November 26, 1743. On September 11, 1753 he was promoted to lieutenant general.

In 1749 the dragoon regiment went to Prince Friedrich Eugen von Württemberg . In February 1752 he was given the authority of Acken , Calbe and Gottesgnade for this, plus an allowance of 1000 thalers, which was increased in January 1753.

In Saxon service he took part in the campaign against the Turks in Hungary. In Prussian service he fought in the Second Silesian War and in the Seven Years' War . Here he distinguished himself in the battles of Hohenfriedberg , Groß-Jägersdorf (1757) and Zorndorf (1758). After that he was no longer in the field.

He received a pension of 2000 thalers as well as the income from the administrative authorities.

family

He was married twice. In 1739 he married Wilhelmine Friederike Gayling von Altheim (born August 3, 1699) daughter of Leopold Ludwig Gayling von Altheim (1665–1757) and Christiane Elisabeth von Sternfels. The couple had a son:

  • August Ludwig Leberecht (* July 8, 1740 - December 6, 1790), major in the Baden body grenadiers

He married his second wife on July 21, 1744. It was Fredericke Charlotte von Treskow ((baptism) February 24, 1722; † June 26, 1785), the widow of Stephan Bernd von Dewitz (born March 31, 1672; † 8. February 1728). She was the daughter of Lieutenant Field Marshal Adam Friedrich von Tresckow (1667–1732) and Eleonore von Möllendorf . With her he had two sons and two daughters, including:
