Konrad Meindl

Konrad Meindl (born September 15, 1844 in Raab in Upper Austria , † July 14, 1915 in Reichersberg ) was an Austrian theologian , Augustinian canon and Roman Catholic priest . From 1900 to 1915 he was the 71st provost of the Reichersberg monastery . He also published as a historian and monument conservator .

Life

Konrad Meindl entered 1863 in the Augustinian canons pin Reichersberg and studied in St. Florian's Priory theology and came up with the historians School of the pen in conjunction. He was ordained a priest in 1868 and worked as a catechist, archivist and librarian in the Reichersberg Abbey. From 1873 to 1900 he was monastery dean, from 1878 to 1887 novice master, from 1887 to 1900 monastery pastor and from 1887 to 1914 curator of the Central Commission for the Preservation of Monuments for the districts of Braunau am Inn , Ried im Innkreis and Schärding . From 1900 until his death in 1915 Konrad Meindl was provost of the Reichersberg monastery.
