Ku Hye-sun (born November 9, 1984 in Incheon , South Korea ) is a South Korean actress , director and screenwriter . She is best known for her role as Geum Jan-di in the television series Boys Over Flowers .

Life

Ku has been studying art at Sungkyunkwan University since 2011 . She was previously enrolled at the Seoul Institute of the Arts , but left because of her tight schedule. She is under contract with the talent agency YG Entertainment .

From 2004 Ku played in a few dramas and from April 23, 2006 to February 18, 2007 presented the music show Inkigayo on SBS together with Kim Hee-chul . With her role in the KBS drama Boys over Flowers , she became very popular across Asia. In 2012 she played in the Taiwanese drama Absolute Darling , which is based on the manga of the same name .

In 2008 Ku released a short film called The Madonna , which marks her directorial debut. In 2010 she released her first full-length film Magic .

Originally Ku was supposed to make his debut in a girl group with Park Bom and Sandara Park (both now members of 2NE1 ). However, the CEO of YG Entertainment , Yang Hyun-seok, advised her to continue her acting career. However, she repeatedly publishes songs for the soundtracks to drama series. In addition, she released a specially composed New Age album in 2009 entitled Breath .

In 2009 Ku published the semi-autobiographical novel Tango about a young woman who experiences love and relationships. The novel became a bestseller and sold more than 30,000 times within a week. In July 2009, Ku's first art exhibition called Tango began , which attracted more than 10,000 visitors.

In 2011 Ku founded her own production company, Ku Hye-sun Film ( 구혜선 필름 ), with which she wants to realize her film projects.

On May 21, 2016, she married the actor Ahn Jae-hyun .
