Kordula Klose
Kordula Klose , also Kordula Klose – Schmitt (* 1955 in Kassel ) is a German sculptor . She works mostly in metal . Kordula Klose lives and works in Calden- Fürstenwald .
Life
Kordula Klose studied metal sculpture at the Kassel Art Academy under Eberhard Fiebig . She has been working as a freelance sculptor since 1980. In the team of a producer's gallery she worked on the development and organization of art projects from 1990 to 1998. From 1998 to 2000 she developed the tower surrounds , a cultural project for the Luther Church in Kassel . In 2008 Kordula Klose took part in the Simpozionul internaţional de artă contemporană , a sculpture symposium in Sângeorz-Băi , Romania .
In addition to her artistic work, she is active in art education, she leads workshops for schools and adult education.
She designed the Golden Cube , which was awarded for the first time at the 2003 Kassel Documentary Film and Video Festival .
In 2004 she opened a culture café in the former train station in Fürstenwald, where she organizes changing exhibitions, concerts, lectures, film screenings and readings. Klose is a member of the professional association BBK Kassel.

Kordula Klose works with sheet steel and other semi-finished products . Her constructive-geometric sculptures are determined by the rhythm and symmetry of their elements. In more recent works, Kordula Klose combines wood and metal, also glass and wood. In simple basic forms such as B. Rectangle, circle or pipe segment or cuboid, it inserts thick glass panes into slots. The slots are cut with water jet technology, as the glass requires high precision. This results in works made of two very hard and solid materials that correspond to one another with completely different effects. The glass has an irritating effect, the green glowing edges reflect the spatiality of the steel form, allow insights and perspectives and optically shift the straight lines. The precision that the material demands creates lightness that makes this precision forgotten again.
