Kosson ( Ukrainian and Russian Косонь ; Slovak Kosino or Kosinovo , Hungarian Mezőkaszony ) is a village in the southwest of the Ukrainian Zakarpattia Oblast on the Hungarian border with about 2300 inhabitants (2006).
From 1946 to 1995 the village, founded in 1333, officially bore the Russian name Косины Kossiny (Ukrainian from April 1, 1995 Косини Kossyny ).
Kosson lies in the west of the Raion Berehove 20 km northwest of Rajonzentrum Berehove and 55 km south of the Oblastzentrum Uzhhorod . The village is located on the M 25 trunk road and has a thermal water source and a border crossing to the Hungarian municipality of Barabás .
