Koundoumaoua (also: Koundoumawa ) is a village in the rural municipality of Garagoumsa in Niger .

The village is conveniently located on National Road 1 , the country's most important trunk road. About 25 kilometers west of the national road 1 you reach the village of Maïjirgui and after about 40 kilometers the city of Tessaoua . To the east, National Road 1 runs through the village of Takeita , which is around 16 kilometers away by road , the municipal capital of Garagoumsa, in the direction of the city of Zinder, around 65 kilometers away by road . Koundoumaoua is part of the Garagoumsa rural community in the Takeita department in the Zinder region .

At the 2012 census, Koundoumaoua had 5,700 inhabitants who lived in 823 households. At the 2001 census, the population was 3,806 in 544 households, and at the 1988 census, the population was 2,681 in 438 households.

The population is active in agriculture, animal husbandry and trade. There is a cattle market in Koundoumaoua, which is mainly frequented by middlemen. The market day is Tuesday. In the 1960s the market was an important transshipment point for peanuts , Niger's most important export at the time. The drinking water in the village has high fluorine levels that are hazardous to health . In Niger, comparatively poor values ​​were only measured in Ingall and Tibiri .
