economy and trade

Kulzer Stonehenge

At the beginning of the 20th century, a stonemason was established in Krähhof , which initially worked on boulders found in the forest and made paving stones , boundary stones , gravestones and cattle troughs from them. The stonemasonry still exists today as a modern granite and natural stone factory "Herrmann Granit und Naturstein GmbH", which mines and processes granite at Thanstein . This stonemasonry delivered the three large, 40-ton granite blocks from which the "Kulzer Stonehenge " between Krähhof and Kulz was built on October 22nd and 23rd, 1994 with the help of the Neunburger THW and the population of Kulz . The action was filmed in a television documentary. The aim was to show that it is possible to build such monumental structures without the help of modern machines.
