Kocaali is a city and a district in the Turkish province of Sakarya . The place is about 50 kilometers northeast of the provincial capital Adapazarı .
The district is in the north of the province. It borders on the province of Düzce to the east, Hendek to the south, Karasu to the west and the Black Sea to the north . The county seat is about two kilometers from the coast. There, the D010 trunk road crosses the district, which begins at Karasu in the west and follows the Black Sea coast to the east via Zonguldak , Sinop , Samsun and Trabzon to the Georgian border. A connecting road leads south to Hendek. In the south of the district there are foothills of the Akçakoca Dağları with the 990 meter high Çamdağı , in the north there are extensive beaches. In the northeast, the Melen Çayı River flows into the sea, which forms the border with the Düzce province for long stretches.
