Taraklı is a city and a district in the Turkish province of Sakarya . The place is about 40 kilometers south of the provincial capital Adapazarı .
The district is located in the south of the province. It borders on Geyve to the west and north , Karapürçek to the north, Akyazı to the northeast, Bolu province to the east and Bilecik province to the south . The road D160 runs through the village , which connects the trunk road D650 from the Mediterranean to the Black Sea in the west with Bolu in the east. The D150 runs from Taraklı to Geyve. The river Göynük Çayı flows from east to west through the city and the district and flows further west into the Sakarya . To the north of it lie parts of the Kapıorman Dağları mountain range , south of the Köroğlu Dağları .
Taraklı is a member of the Cittàslow movement, which, among other things, aims to improve the quality of life.
