The Mariborski otok power plant ( Slovenian Hidroelectrarna Mariborski otok ) is a run-of-river power plant on the Drava , which is located in the municipality of Maribor , Slovenia . It has an installed capacity of 60 MW . The eponymous island is located a little downstream from the power plant.
The power plant is owned by Dravske elektrarne Maribor (DEM) and is also operated by DEM.
Barrier structure
The barrier structure is a weir system with four weir fields; Between the weir fields there is a machine house with a turbine. Each weir field is 18.75 m wide. A maximum of 5600 m³ / s can be discharged via the weir system.
Reservoir
When fully blocked , the reservoir extends over a length of 15.5 km and holds 13.1 million m³ of water, of which 2.1 million can be used to generate electricity.
power plant
The power plant was built from 1942 to 1960. The first machine went into operation in 1948; the other two machines followed in 1953 and 1960. The power plant has an installed capacity of 60 MW . The average annual production is 270 million kWh . The three Kaplan turbines each have a maximum output of 20 MW, the associated generators 26 MVA . The fall height is 14.2 m. The flow rate is 550 m³ / s. In the switchgear , the generator voltage of 10 kV is increased to 110 kV by means of power transformers.
