The Vuhred power plant ( Hidroelectrarna Vuhred in Slovenian ) is a run-of-river power plant on the Drava in the municipality of Radlje ob Dravi , Slovenia . It has an installed capacity of 72.3 MW .

The power plant is owned by Dravske elektrarne Maribor (DEM) and is also operated by DEM.

Barrier structure

The barrier structure is a weir system with four weir fields; Between the weir fields there is a machine house with a turbine. Each weir field is 17 m wide. A maximum of 5800 m³ / s can be discharged via the weir system.

Reservoir

When the reservoir is fully blocked, it extends over a length of 13.1 km and holds 10.3 million m³ of water, of which 2.2 million can be used for electricity generation.

power plant

The power plant was built from 1952 to 1958. It went into operation in 1956 with two machines; the third machine followed in 1958. The power plant has an installed capacity of 72.3 MW . The average annual production is 297 million kWh . The three Kaplan turbines each have a maximum output of 24.1 MW, the associated generators 30  MVA . The fall height is 17.41 m. The flow rate is 550 m³ / s.
