In 1925 the Kramer brothers in Gutmadingen , now part of Geisingen in the Tuttlingen district, built the first small motor mowers and tractors produced in Germany . The machines that seem simple today revolutionized agriculture in their time. The company's headquarters were relocated to Überlingen on Lake Constance in 1952 .

In 1957 the company created a department for industrial and construction machinery called Kramer Allrad . In the same year, the KA 540, an all-wheel drive tractor similar to the Unimog, was presented. In 1958 the Kramer-Werke caused a sensation with the presentation of the KS 510 , the first German loader with all-wheel drive and wheels of the same size. 1964 followed with the KS 511 an improved version of the KS 510.

In 1973 there was a massive cut. The tractors division was discontinued in favor of construction machinery production. In 1977, the 12 series, a new wheel loader series consisting of the models 212, 312, 412, 512, 612 and 712, was presented.

In 1987 there was a concentration on the all-wheel steering business. This year, the Kramer 312 SL was the first wheel loader worldwide with all-wheel steering to go into series production. With more than 10,000 units sold, it was the best-selling wheel loader of its time. In 1998 Kramer sold the Tremo equipment carrier series to Multicar .

In 2000, Neuson Baumaschinen GmbH merged with Kramer-Werke GmbH. This resulted in Neuson Kramer Baumaschinen AG with its headquarters in Linz .

From 2005, Kramer launched telescopic handlers in collaboration with Claas . In the course of this cooperation, Claas acquired a minority stake in Kramer. The collaboration with Claas ended in 2016. Kramer has been working with John Deere in this segment since 2017 .

In December 2006, Kramer announced that the company headquarters would be relocated from Überlingen to Pfullendorf by 2008 . On March 30, 2007, the intention to merge Wacker Construction Equipment AG, Munich , and Neuson Kramer Baumaschinen AG, Linz, was announced. The merger resulted in the company Wacker Neuson SE .

On April 5, 2007, the symbolic groundbreaking ceremony in the Theuerbach industrial area in Pfullendorf gave the starting signal for a EUR 30 million investment project. The new Kramer area is 16 hectares larger than the one in Überlingen. An assembly hall 250 meters long and 100 meters wide was built on an area of 160,000 square meters and was completed in February 2008. An administration building, a test track and a training center were also built. At the same time, Kramer managing directors Karl Friedrich Hauri and Martin Buyle announced that the annual production would be increased from the current 1000 to 6000 machines. The new factory with administration was opened in Pfullendorf in 2008.
