The Krauchalbach is an approximately 11-kilometer-long left tributary of the Luterbach in the Swiss canton of Bern , which drains indirectly into the Emmental .
geography
course
The Krauchalbach rises at 760 m above sea level. M. above the Harnischhuet farm in the Geristei forest a little south of Geristein Castle . The source lies in a small side valley of the narrow Bantige valley , which it enters only a little later. Immediately afterwards the valley opens and finally ends at Lutzere . The brook, which up to now has flowed through fields to the north, turns to the northeast and breaks through the gray wood in a deeply cut and heavily wooded ravine . It is possible that the stream flowed into the Worble via Habstetten in the past , before a moraine prevented this.
The ravine opens at Hueb and is lined again by fields, which are bordered by the wooded Schattsite in the south and by the partially wooded Längenberg in the north. The valley is relatively narrow here, but opens up briefly at the village of Krauchthal at the confluence of the Lindental valley . Here the Tannebodebach and the Feisterbach flow from the right . After touching the settlement area in the west, the brook crosses the Underbärgetal , which is usually between 100 and 200 meters wide. This is flanked by high, wooded hills, which tower over the fields in the valley floor , and is uninhabited except for the first few meters to Hof Ey . At Gansern it flows around a spur of the Samstu in a small arch and turns to the southeast. Shortly afterwards, at the Mattenhof , it finally flows into 556 m above sea level. M. from the left into the Luterbach.
