The district of Gárdony (Hungarian Gárdonyi járás ) is an inland district in the center of the central Hungarian Fejér county . It borders on the districts of Székesfehérvár , Martonvásár and Dunaújváros and, in the north, to a small extent on the district of Bicske (with the municipality of Vértesacsa, approx. 5 km).

history

The district was created in the course of the Hungarian administrative reform in early 2013 as the successor to the small area of the same name (Hungarian Gárdonyi kistérség ) with all 9 communities, supplemented by a community from the Adony small area, which was dissolved at the end of 2012 .

Although it is one of the poorest districts of Fejér, its population density is greater than that of the whole county.
