The Székesfehérvár district (Hungarian Székesfehérvári járás ) is a district in the west of the central Hungarian Fejér County . It borders on Komárom-Esztergom county to the north and Veszprém county to the west . The districts of Mór , Bicske , Gárdony , Dunaújváros , Sárbogárd and Enying form the boundaries within the county.
history
In the course of the Hungarian administrative reform at the beginning of 2013, the district emerged from 13 of the 18 municipalities of the small area of the same name (Hungarian Székesfehérvári kistérség ) (90.9% of the population). The remaining 5 municipalities (with 21.0% of the area and 9.13% of the population) moved to the newly formed Polgárdi district (Hungarian Polgárdi járás ).
The Székesfehérvár district was expanded to include 7 of the 13 municipalities from the abolished small area Aba ( Aba kistérség in Hungarian ) as well as one municipality each from the small areas Bicske ( Gánt municipality ) and Mór ( Magyaralmas municipality ), so that it now comprised 22 municipalities.
At the end of 2014, the Polgardi district was dissolved again and the 9 municipalities moved back to their original territory (4 to Enying , 5 to Székesfehérvár). At the same time, the two communities Gánt and Magyaralmas returned to their origins. Thus, the Székesfehérvár district today comprises the 25 municipalities of the small areas of Székesfehérvár that were dissolved at the end of 2012 and parts of Aba .
