Szécsény (Hungarian Szécsényi járás ) is a district in the north of the northern Hungarian county of Nógrád . It is bordered by Balassagyarmat County to the west , Pásztó County to the south and Salgótarján County to the east . In the north-west Slovakia forms the border (3 border municipalities).

history

During the Hungarian administrative reform in early 2013, the district emerged with all 13 municipalities from its predecessor, the small area of the same name (Hungarian Szécsényi kistérség ). and was expanded by a parish from Salgótarján County.
