The Pásztó District (Hungarian Pásztói járás ) is a district in the south of the northern Hungarian Nógrád County . It borders in the west on the Balassagyarmat district , in the northwest on the Szécsény district and in the northeast on the Salgótarján and Bátonyterenye districts . In the southeast forming Heves the border, in the southwest, the Pest County .

history

During the Hungarian administrative reform in early 2013, the district emerged with all 26 municipalities from its predecessor, the small area of the same name (Hungarian Pásztói kistérség ).
