Kresten Osgood (* 7. December 1976 in Lemvig , Midtjylland ) is a Danish jazz - drummer .

Live and act

Osgood had lessons at the Holstebro Music School from 1993 to 1996 and then studied at the Rytmisk Music Conservatory in Copenhagen from 1997 to 2002. He first worked with rock musicians such as Nanna Lüders , Nikolaj Nørlund , Niels Skousen and Ane Trolle , then with jazz and improvisation musicians such as Jakob Dinesen / Kurt Rosenwinkel ( Everything Will Be All Right , 2002), Peter Brötzmann , Tim Berne , Dr. Lonnie Smith , Sam Rivers ( Purple Violets 2004), Paul Bley (Duoalbum Florida , 2007), Henry Grimes , Oliver Lake , Michael Blake , Scott DuBois , Dom Minasi , Philipp Gropper , Bent Jædig and Yusef Lateef , also in own band projects like the Raptrio Ikscheltaschel , in Og Hvad Er Klokken with saxophonist Jesper Løvdal and bassist Thomas Vang, and from 2002 in the musician collective ILK .

Prizes and awards

In 2006 he was awarded the Django d'Or in the Contemporary Star of Jazz category. In 2010 he received the Ben Webster Prize .
