Krystian Sikorski
Krystian Sikorski (born April 14, 1961 in Bytom ) is a former Polish ice hockey player and current coach . At club level, he played for Herner EV in the 2nd Bundesliga . He is currently the head coach of Eisadler Dortmund .
Career
As a player
Sikorski began his career in the Polish Ekstraliga with Polonia Bytom , where the trained striker played for several years in the youth department and later belonged to the senior team. During this time he was able to win the Polish championship four times with Polonia and came in ten seasons to more than 300 missions, in which he scored 195 goals. In the following years he also completed 125 games for the Polish national team , with which he took part in the Olympic Games in Sarajevo and Calgary in 1984 and 1988 , as well as in five world championships.
In the summer of 1990, those in charge of the Herne EV became aware of the native Poland and transferred him to Herne. There he played with the team from the 1991/92 season in the major league and from the 1994/95 season in the then second-highest German ice hockey league, the 1st League North.
As a trainer
Between October 2007 and October 2008, Krystian Sikorski looked after the first senior team of the Herner EV. He succeeded with the club, after a first place in the promotion round and a subsequent final victory over the EHC Dortmund, to rise to the league. At the beginning of October 2008 he was dismissed from his duties as head coach due to unsuccessfulness, the HEV took the last place in the Oberliga Nord. A little later he joined the EHC Dortmund, where he inherited his Polish compatriot Czesław Panek . At the end of December 2008 he won the regional league championship of the 2008/09 season with the EHC . There he was replaced by Frank Gentges after his expiring contract was not extended . In the 2011/12 season Krystian Sikorski worked as a coach at Herner EV in the Regionalliga-West. In the 2012/13 season Krystian Sikorski is coach at EHC Dortmund in the Oberliga-West.
