Krzysztof Kobyliński

Krzysztof Kobyliński (born October 21, 1952 in Gliwice ) is a Polish jazz musician (piano, composition).

Act

Kobyliński, who is a trained IT specialist, was initially interested in fusion and progressive rock . A first album was created with the fusion band Street in 1982/83. He then made electronic music. In the field of ethno-jazz he directed the KK Pearls (with the Israeli singer Reut Rivka ), with which several albums were created. Musicians such as Bill Evans , Ralph Alessi , Mike Stern , Joey Calderazzo , Richard Galliano and Adam Makowicz interpreted his compositions. He also played with Ambrose Akinmusire , Antymos Apostolis , Bojan Z , Randy Brecker , Café del Mundo , Renaud Garcia-Fons , Trilok Gurtu , Gary Husband , Robert Majewski , Branford Marsalis , Zbigniew Namysłowski , Jaroslaw Śmietana and Miroslav Vitouš . He is also successful as a composer of symphonic music.

Kobyliński is the artistic director of the Jazovia Cultural Center in Gliwice, where he organized the PalmJazz Festival , which enabled him to meet many international musicians. He has toured several times in other parts of Europe. His son Paweł Kobyliński is a Polish politician.
