Kubbe is a place ( småort ) in the Swedish province of Västernorrlands län and the historical province (landskap) Ångermanland . The place is located about 50 km northwest of Örnsköldsvik on the left bank of the Norra Anundsjöån river , about ten kilometers north of Bredbyn .

Kubbe was a crime scene until 1970, but from 1975 the population sank below 200 people. From 1990 to 2010, Kubbe was merged with the town of Statistiska centralbyrån, which is mainly on the opposite bank of the river and adjoining it to the south, to Småort Kubbe och Norrflärke . Since 2015, Norrflärke has been shown separately again.

About 15 km north is the former Kubbe flygbas .

The Norra Anundsjöån, also called Kubbeån in the area , one of the source rivers of the Moälven , meanders through the row village of Kubbe. It was created on the south side of the Arneberget. The buildings were all built as close as possible to the slope so that the existing space could be used for agriculture. People have lived here since the twelfth century, much longer than the main town of the municipality, Örnsköldsvik . The age of Kubbe is documented by pilgrims from the north who walked past there on the pilgrimage route to Nidaros Cathedral . In Kubbe there is the Kubbe bykista, a wooden box in which the village elders have been keeping documents of value for the village for over 500 years. The oldest preserved document is the Kalvskinnsdomen from 1443, it describes a lagmansting in which two men asked permission to found a new village. Your request was granted.
