Place name
Documented forms of the place name are Conradesdorph (1306), Cunradisdorf apud Bernhardisdorf (1312), Cunradisdorf (1374/1382), Cunirstorff (1430), Kunersdorff auffm Eigenn (1554), Kunnerßdorf bey Bernstadt (1768) and Cunnersdorf a. d. Eigen (Kunnersdorf) (1875).
A knight named Ritter Konrad (probably from Schönburg or von Baruth) comes to today's Kunnersdorf after a long journey with 10 or 15 settler families. The conditions are very good here and he decides to stay here. Konrad travels to Meissen and reports to the bishop, the master of this area, about his plans. This bishop is happy to have found a new vassal and solemnly hands over the land to him as a fief. Konrad returns and in his honor and gratitude for his efforts the settlers will christen their place "Konradsdorf".
