Kurt Bernheier

Kurt Bernheier (born November 3, 1928 , † July 7, 2015 in Berlin ) was a German university professor and politician ( SED ). From 1968 to 1973 he was State Secretary in the Ministry of Trade and Supply of the GDR .

Life

Bernheier joined the SED and qualified as a graduate economist. In 1955 he became an employee of the SED district leadership in Halle . From 1959 to 1961 he was an employee or aspirant at the Institute for Social Sciences at the Central Committee of the SED. In 1961 he was promoted to Dr. rer. oec. PhD. From 1961 he was an employee or sector manager in the trade, supply and foreign trade department of the Central Committee of the SED . From 1968 to 1973 he served as State Secretary and 1st Deputy Minister for Trade and Supply in the Stoph government . He then became a lecturer at the Graduate School of Management and Professor appointed. Later he was a research assistant and group leader at the Central Institute for Socialist Economic Management at the Central Committee of the SED.

Bernheier last lived in Berlin and died at the age of 86.
