Tammo or Tamno († December 7, 1188 ) was Bishop of Verden from 1180 to 1188 .

He was canon in Verden and most recently held the office of thesaurarius . After the death of Bishop Hugo , who had held the office from 1167 to 1180, he was elected bishop. Compared to its predecessor, Tammo's actions were more regional.

In 1180 he was present at the Gelnhausen Court Day , when Heinrich the Lion was deprived of the tribal duchy of Saxony . There he witnessed a prince's ruling in favor of the Bishop of Basel. Bishop Tammo consecrated the second Romanesque cathedral , a basilica with a transept, in the city in 1185 and presented it with valuable furnishings with an altar and a golden Madonna .
