Kurt Diemer (historian)

Kurt Diemer (born May 22, 1942 in Biberach an der Riss ) is a German historian and archivist .

Life

Diemer studied history, German studies and scientific politics. In 1970 he was at the University of Tübingen with the work I. The marriage negotiations between Queen Elizabeth of England and the Archduke Charles of Inner Austria from 1558 to 1570 to the Dr. phil. PhD.

He was the city archivist of Biberach and until his retirement in 2005 he was the district archive director of the Biberach district .

Since 1969 he has been a committee member of today's “Society for Home Care”, until 2010 a board member. Since 1980 he has been the editor of the “BC Heimatkundliche Blätter for the city and district of Biberach”. In 1996 he was a co-founder of the “ Upper Swabian Society for History and Culture ”, until 2004, among other things, deputy chairman.

In 1990 Kurt Diemer was appointed Knight of the Order of Knights of the Holy Sepulcher by Cardinal Grand Master Giuseppe Cardinal Caprio and invested in Cologne Cathedral on October 20, 1990 by Cardinal Joachim Meisner . He is Commander of the Order.
