Ulrike Gauss
Ulrike Gauss (* 1941 in Tübingen ) is a German art historian .
Live and act
Ulrike Gauss studied art history , history and historical auxiliary sciences at the Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen . 1968 she was with the dissertation Andreas Thamasch (1639-1697). Abbey sculptor in Stams and master from Kaisheim for Dr. phil. PhD . She then worked in museums and began her academic career in 1972 at the Staatsgalerie Stuttgart .
From 1990 onwards, as the successor to Heinrich Geissler, she was director of the graphic collection at the Staatsgalerie Stuttgart, which comprises over 400,000 objects. She increased the size of the collection by acquiring new sheets and expanded the collection to include photographic works. In 2006 she was adopted into retirement .
Ulrike Gauss has been chairwoman of the jury of the Jerg Ratgeb Prize since 1999 . In 2003 she was elected to the Scientific Advisory Board of the International Center for Research on Culture and Technology at the University of Stuttgart . From 2006 to 2010 she was an external member of the University Council of the State Academy of Fine Arts in Stuttgart .
