Kurt Kalchschmid , partly spelled Kalchschmidt , (born March 22, 1958 ) is a former German football player . The defender and midfielder was in the second division . FC Augsburg , SpVgg Fürth and SSV Ulm 1846 under contract.
Athletic career
Kalchschmid comes from the youth of FC Augsburg. For the Swabians he made his debut in professional football on the last day of the second division season 1975/76 , when Waldhof Mannheim was beaten 3-0 away. In the following two seasons he was used irregularly, only in the season 1978/79 he asserted himself as a regular player under the new coach Hans Cieslarczyk and came alongside Georg Beichle , Erich Steer , Helmut Haller , Armin Veh and Karl- Heinz Stempfle was used in 37 of the 38 league games. After relegation to the Bayern League as third- bottom of the table, however, he left Augsburg and joined the league rivals SpVgg Fürth. Here, however, he remained without use in the championship and then left the club.
In the 1982/83 season Kalchschmid played for FC Lauingen in the District League North before he moved to TSV Schwaben Augsburg in the Bayern League. There he stood out with 13 goals this season, while the club was relegated to fourth division as the bottom of the table. Then the league competitor TSV 1860 Munich took him under contract, which he left after only one season in the direction of SSV Ulm 1846. With the "Spatzen" he was at the side of Günter Berti , Uwe Spies and Marcus Sorg under coach Werner Nickel master of the Oberliga Baden-Württemberg and rose to the 2nd Bundesliga. Here he was again without a game, so that in the summer of 1987 he went to TSV Dasing in the fourth-class Bavarian regional league . There he ended his active career in 1990.
After the end of his career, Kalchschmid became an insurance agent for DAS and Ergo Versicherung .
