Kurt Steim (born May 4, 1913 in Stuttgart ; † January 12, 1983 in Lugano ) was a German entrepreneur.

Life

After graduating from high school , Steim studied business administration in Frankfurt am Main and received his doctorate there in 1937. rer. pole. During his studies he was active at Corps Austria . Then he got a job in the Hugo Kern clock spring factory in Schramberg, founded by his grandfather in 1888 . He expanded this company into what is now the Kern-Liebers group of companies , an association of companies in the manufacture of circuit boards for the textile industry, return springs for seat belts and dosing technology. In 1973 he was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit, First Class, for his success as an entrepreneur . In 1978 he founded Dr. Kurt Steim Foundation for research into and avoidance of consequential damage from motor vehicle accidents . In 1979 he was made an honorary senator for his commitment to the University of Freiburg . The Kurt Steim Prize, awarded by the Kurt Steim Foundation, has been awarded in the fields of sports medicine , orthopedics and trauma surgery at the University of Freiburg since 2005 .

Kurt Steim is the father of Hans-Jochem Steim .
