Kurt Steves

Kurt Steves (born February 1, 1930 in Schwetzingen ; † May 29, 2011 ) was a German business journalist and association official .

Life

After graduating from high school in 1949, he studied history at the University of Erlangen and the Free University of Berlin .

From 1954 to 1956 he began as a volunteer at a regional newspaper in Berlin. From 1956 he was the business editor of the daily newspaper Die Welt in Hamburg. From 1958 to 1975 he worked as an economic and political correspondent in Bonn. During this time he belonged to the journalistic "Neuhauser Kreis" around Ludwig Erhard , which also included Hans-Henning Zencke and Fritz Ullrich Fack . Then he should become a member of the chief editor.

In 1975, however, he moved to the Federation of German Industries (BDI) in Cologne, where he became head of the department for foreign trade and integration and a member of the management board.

He was a member of the CDU and u. a. Participant in the Bergedorf Round Table of the Körber Foundation .

Steves was married from 1965 and had two children.
