Kurt Teuscher

Kurt Teuscher (born May 25, 1921 in Radonitz / Böhmen; † December 14, 2016 in Hof (Saale) ) was a German painter of concrete art . His path led through his work as a commercial artist to two-dimensional design. For him, “concrete” means clear and pure design with a geometrically strict structure, but without a logical concept and mathematical calculation. Kurt Teuscher lived in Selb (Upper Franconia) from 2001 and in Hof (Saale) from 2015.

Life

Teuscher was a soldier in World War II. He became a prisoner of war, from which he was released in 1948. From 1949 to 1953 he studied at the Werkkunstschule Wiesbaden and at the Art School Alsterdamm in Hamburg. From 1954 to 1981 he worked as a commercial artist in Hamburg, Cologne and Frankfurt am Main . Since 1982 he has worked as a freelance painter in Weilheim, Regensburg and Selb. After 60 years of marriage, his wife Inge died in January 2010.

He showed his work in solo exhibitions in Munich, Freising , Narbonne (France), Regensburg , Pardubice (Czech Republic), Selb, Herzogenaurach , Rehau and Hof / Saale, among others .
