Kurt Elsasser

Kurt Elsasser (born July 14, 1967 in Wagna , Styria ) is an Austrian pop singer .

Life

Elsasser already had a success in 1980 as a twelve-year-old with the Christmas carol Leise trick der Schnee and the song La Montanara in the very first Musikantenstadl and was celebrated as the child star in Austria. After graduating from high school , he studied singing, acting and dance at the Salzburg Mozarteum . Kurti Elsasser took piano lessons at the age of 10 and “musical dance lessons” at the Theater an der Wien at the age of 13 . When his voice broke, Kurti Elsasser played alongside Alfred Böhm , Serge Falck and Dagmar Koller in the 12-part ORF television series Der Leihopa .

In 1992, the title Alone Love Matters brought him the breakthrough in the field of pop hits. In the same year he took part in the Grand Prix of Folk Music . A year later ( 1993 ) he also achieved a seventh place in the German preliminary decision with Stell Dir vor, i will place 'Dir . In 1996 he tried again with Who Laughs Tears Doesn't Have to Weep Tears and in 1997 with The Bells of San Marco, but both times he could not reach the final. In 1998 he competed for Austria with Let me be your friend at the Grand Prix.

With over 300 songs produced (as of 2008), which were placed in the radio charts in Austria, Switzerland and Germany, numerous television and live appearances and meanwhile more than 1.8 million records sold, Kurt Elsasser can look back on a successful music career . At a young age he was on stage with artists such as Curd Jürgens , Bonnie Tyler , Tony Christie , Dagmar Koller and Alfred Böhm .

In January 2007 Kurt Elsasser presented the duet Blinder Passenger with Nadja abd el Farrag on ARD at the Winter Festival of Folk Music , which reached number 1 on the airplay charts. In 2007 Kurt Elsasser took part in a duet with Nadja abd El Farrag with the song Heimat in the Austrian preliminary decision for the Grand Prix of Folk Music. Then the two released their first joint album, Weisse Pferde , which hit the top of the sales charts.

In November 2011, his wife, with whom he had been with for 28 years, died. Then Elsasser wanted to end his career as a pop singer. In 2013 Kurt Elsasser published the title Wieder im Leben and started a comeback on the program Sommerfest with the help of his friend Florian Silbereisen . With again in life he reached a position in the Austrian airplay charts, an album of the same name followed.

Together with Waltraut Haas , he recorded the duet This Happiness Feeling in 2016 for their 70th stage anniversary .
