Career

Silva ran unsuccessfully in parliamentary elections several times: in 2007 in 16th place and in 2012 in 25th place on the election list of the Partido Socialista de Timor (PST) and in 2017 on place 9 on the list of KHUNTO and in the early elections in 2018 on list position 42 of the Aliança para Mudança e Progresso (AMP), the joint list of CNRT , PLP and KHUNTO. At the end of June, however, Silva moved into parliament for members of the KHUNTO who had to give up their seat for government office under the constitution. Since António Verdial de Sousa was refused the appointment as a member of the government by President Francisco Guterres and Sousa then returned to parliament, Silva had to vacate her seat again.
