The Banco BPM SpA is an Italian bank and member of the Italian benchmark index FTSE MIB .

history

The bank was created on January 1, 2017 through the merger of Banca Popolare di Milano (BPM) from Milan with Banco Popolare from Verona . These two predecessor institutes were in turn listed in the FTSE MIB. In terms of total assets, the company is the third largest bank in Italy after UniCredit and Intesa Sanpaolo and thus ranks ahead of Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena . The head offices of the predecessor banks in Milan and Verona will continue to be used after the merger and mark the strong anchoring in northern Italy.
