Lütersheim is a district of the city of Volkmarsen in the northern Hessian district of Waldeck-Frankenberg .

geography

The street village lies in a side valley of the Watter .

To the north of the village in the nearby forest are the Oedelbeck castle ruins and the Hollenkammer natural monument . Near Lütersheim is the “Wetterkapelle”, the last remnant of the desolate place Wetter .

history

The village is first mentioned in 1120 in connection with goods belonging to the Corvey monastery . The place name changed over the centuries from Luidherssen and Luitheressen to Luitersen and Lutesen and Lützen to today's Lütersheim.

A chapel is mentioned as early as 1283.

On August 1, 1972, the previously independent community of Lütersheim was incorporated into the city of Volkmarsen.
