The Zeppelin LZ 9 was the ninth airship of Count Zeppelin and the third airship of the German army .

history

LZ 9 made his first trip on October 2, 1911. After the conversion of the zeppelin from 21 October to 23 November 1911 (installation of an additional 8-meter-long gas cell segment), the airship was taken over by the army and got for the lost army airship Z II the Identification: Ersatz Z II. The army used Ersatz Z II as a school and training ship.

Its locations as an army airship were Baden-Oos , Cologne , Metz and Gotha .

End of LZ 9 / replacement Z II

The technically obsolete airship was scrapped on August 1, 1914.
