The second trip took place on May 2 and 3, 1916 with the destinations Middlesbrough , Stockton-on-Tees and Hartlepool in England as well as two destinations in Scotland. Problems with one of the engines and strong winds drove the ship off to Norway . Due to lack of fuel, the airship was put on water in a fjord south of Stavanger . Most of the crew were able to save themselves on land.

As a result of the lost load, the airship rose again and then lost a gondola in the collision with a rock, whereby three crew members died. Eventually the ship crashed into a fjord, whereby the rest of the crew were able to save themselves. In order to avoid an uncontrolled explosion, the ship was fired in a controlled manner by the Norwegian Navy.
