LZ 34

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Zeppelin LZ 34 was Count Zeppelin's 34th airship and the fifteenth airship of the German army .

history

The first run of LZ 34 took place on January 6, 1915.

LZ 34 did not get an army identification, as was usual before, but drove under its construction number LZ 34 with the German land forces.

The airship was used on the Eastern Front. Several bombing raids by LZ 34 on enemy targets had to be stopped due to bad weather conditions. In June 1916, LZ 34 attacked Grodno and Kauen with half a tonne of bombs each.

During its patrol on June 21, 1915, the airship received significant hits and had to make an emergency landing on its way home to the Königsberg base near Insterburg . LZ 34 drifted off and burned.
