La Bâtiaz is a village in the municipality of Martigny in the Swiss canton of Valais .

The place split off in 1845 from Martigny-Combe - which in turn belonged to Martigny until 1841 - as an independent municipality. On January 1, 1956, the municipality was again merged with the former municipality of Martigny-Ville to form the new municipality of Martigny-Ville , which no longer exists .
