Leytron is a political municipality and a civil parish in the Martigny district in the French-speaking part of the canton of Valais in Switzerland .

The resort of Ovronnaz , which is known for its winter sports area and thermal baths , belongs to the municipality .

geography

Leytron is located on the north side of the Rhone Valley halfway between Sion and Martigny . The municipality consists of the two villages Leytron and Ovronnaz and the hamlets of Les Moulins, Produit, Montagnon, Les Places, Le Four, Dugny, Morthey and Lui Teise. The neighboring communities of Leytron are Chamoson in the north and east , Riddes in the south-south-east, Saillon in the south , Fully in the west- south- west and north- west, an exclave of Saillon in the north-west and Bex VD in the north-north-west .
