Bovernier ( German  Birnier ) is a political municipality and a civil parish in the district of Martigny in the French-speaking part of the canton of Valais in Switzerland .

Bovernier is located south of Martigny in the Val d'Entremont and consists of the two settlements Bovernier and Les Valettes on the H21 pass road to the Great Saint Bernhard . The neighboring communities of Bovernier are Martigny in the north, Vollèges in the north-east, Sembrancher in the east, Orsières in the south Martigny-Combe in the west .
