The La Doria SpA is an international Italian food manufacturers . The family business, based in Angri in the province of Salerno , mainly produces and sells pelati (peeled tomatoes) and tomato sauces , fruit juices and pulses . Most of these are sold as private labels for the large European retail chains and, on a smaller scale, for international food and beverage groups. Only seven percent of production is sold under its own brand name.
La Doria employs 752 permanent employees as well as another 376 seasonal workers and generated a turnover of 631.4 million euros in 2014, more than 70 percent of which abroad. The group of companies is listed on the Milan Stock Exchange, with the founding family Ferraioli still holding the majority with 70 percent.

The company was founded in 1954 in Angri, in a region that was characterized by the cultivation of tomatoes . The processing and distribution of tomatoes was the core activity of La Doria. From the 1960s, the company began selling its products abroad as trademarks of international retail groups. Today these include Sainsbury , Tesco , Aldi , Ahold , Dansk Supermarket, Carrefour , Auchan and Conad . It also supplies Unilever , Coca-Cola , Heinz and Mutti, who sell the products under private label names.
The 1980s and 1990s were characterized by growth. New production facilities were put into operation, capacities expanded and the range expanded to include beverages and pulses, which are sold as canned goods . The IPO followed in 1995, which enabled the company to expand further and to make acquisitions.
