La Jacques-Cartier is a regional county municipality ( French municipalité régionale de comté, MRC ) in the Canadian province of Québec .

It is located in the administrative region Capitale-Nationale and consists of ten subordinate administrative units (four cities, four municipalities, a cantonal municipality and a municipality-free area). The MRC was founded on April 1, 1981. The main town is Shannon . The population is 35,616 and the area is 3180.7 km², which corresponds to a population density of 11.2 inhabitants per km².
