Lacistema hasslerianum is a tree in the Lacistematacea family from central to southeastern Brazil to more northerly Argentina and Paraguay .

description

Lacistema hasslerianum grows as a small, evergreen tree up to 4–5 meters high. The trunk diameter reaches about 15-20 centimeters.

The simple, short-stalked, mostly bald and slightly leathery leaves are alternate. The short, runny leaf stalk is up to 6–10 millimeters long. The ovate to obovate or elliptical, lanceolate leaves are 5-14.5 inches long and 2-4.5 inches wide. The leaf margin is usually completely to sometimes finely toothed, at the tip the leaves are pointed, pointed to pointed. Small and sloping stipules are formed.

The flowers appear in axillary, usually appearing in clusters, very short and thin, cylindrical catkins . The very small, slightly fragrant and hermaphrodite, almost sessile flowers are white. The flowers with a simple perimeter each have a bract and two linear pre-leaves , the petals are missing. They have 3–4 small, narrow and uneven sepals and only one stamen and an upper, bare ovary with a minimal stylus and three scar tips and a high, cup-shaped disc that towers above the ovary.

Small, red, leathery-fleshy and loculicidal, single-seeded, glabrous, about 7-10 millimeters in size, egg-shaped to rounded capsule fruits are formed, which appear like berries . The seeds have a white aril .
