The Lahrer Zeitung is a regional newspaper published in Lahr ( Baden-Württemberg ) . The publisher is Lahrer Zeitung GmbH. The sold circulation is 7,410 copies, a decrease of 48.6 percent since 1998.

history

The sources of the history of the Lahrer Zeitung , which first appeared as the Lahrer Wochenblatt , are poor. One of the oldest surviving documents is in the city archive of Lahr . It is a note or receipt from the printer Johann Heinrich Geiger about the receipt of expenses for “typesetting, printing and paper á 6 Gulden per riss” and is dated October 25, 1794.

At the beginning of the 19th century, the Lahrer Wochenblatt became the Lahrer Intelligence and Wochenblatt for police, trade and commerce . In 1869 the newspaper, which now appeared almost daily, was given its current title: Lahrer Zeitung .

As a former daily newspaper for National Socialist politics and a newsletter of the Lahr district of the NSDAP , the Lahrer Zeitung did not receive a license from the occupying powers after the end of World War II . The first post-war edition was therefore not published until October 15, 1949, when the license requirement was lifted.
